THE BATTLE OF NANCYS RESULT

 

NANCY THOMPSON'S ATTEMPT

 

The sewers of Derry were suffocatingly dark, damp, and reeking of decay as Nancy Thompson led her team deeper into the labyrinth. Taryn White, Roland Kincaid, Richie Tozier, and Mike Hanlon moved cautiously. They knew Pennywise thrived on fear, and despite the dream warriors’ experience with nightmares and terrors beyond comprehension, the shapeshifting clown was unlike anything they had faced before.

NANCY THOMPSON: We stick together. He wants to separate us, right Mike?

Mike Hanlon nodded.

NANCY THOMPSON: Well, we don’t let him.

A high-pitched giggle reverberated through the tunnel. The unnerving sound sent a chill through them all. Then, without warning, Richie was yanked off his feet by an unseen force. He let out a scream before disappearing into the darkness.

MIKE HANLON: Richie!!

The sound of Mike’s Hanlon’s shouts was drowned out by Pennywise’s sinister laughter. The clown form of the ancient entity itself emerged from the shadows; his eyes glowed yellow. 

PENNYWISE: As I said before, I do love a reunion. Shame it has to be short-lived.

Roland Kincaid charged in, and swung a heavy pipe at Pennywise’s head. The clown dissolved into mist, and reformed behind him. With a swipe of his elongated claws, Pennywise tore through Kincaid’s side, and sent the big man sprawling onto the sewer floor. Taryn, fueled by fury, lunged with a makeshift blade, only to have Pennywise’s monstrous hand grasp her throat and lift her off the ground.

NANCY THOMPSON: No... not like this.

Nancy’s heart pounded as she concentrated on a way to counter him. She went on the offensive but Pennywise quickly smelled the doubt inside her. He grew larger in size, and twisted his form  into Freddy Krueger for just a moment to send a psychological blow at Nancy.

She hesitated, and that was all Pennywise needed. Taryn’s body went limp, and Pennywise tossed aside like a ragdoll. Richie was nowhere to be found. Roland struggled to rise to his feet as Mike tried to assist him. Pennywise loomed over all of them with a wicked grin.

MIKE HANLON: We have to run, Nancy. We need to regroup!

With no other choice, Nancy Thompson, Mike Hanlon, and the injured Roland retreated, leaving behind the bodies of their fallen teammates. Pennywise laughed maniacally, victorious once more in his endless cycle of fear and death.

 

NANCY WHEELER'S ATTEMPT

 

Nancy Wheeler, her brother Mike, Robin Buckley, Ben Hanscom, and Beverly Marsh moved with planned precision through the tunnels. Nancy had a sawed-off shotgun slung over her shoulder, and a pistol in her hands. Beverly wielded a slingshot loaded with silver ball bearings, while Ben carried a sharpened rebar spear. Robin carried a canister of gasoline, and Mike carried  an iron rod scavenged from the ruins of the sewer. Nancy led her team with confidence.

NANCY WHEELER: This thing preys on our fear. So we don’t give it any.

ROBIN: You say that like it’s easy.

They entered the lair, a grotesque cavern of piled bones and floating remnants of Pennywise’s past victims. Pennywise emerged from the darkness, It clapped slowly. 

PENNYWISE: I was wondering when your group was going to shoot their shot. Are you really prepared?

Nancy wasted no time. She fired her pistol and hit Pennywise square in the head. The clown stumbled backward, momentarily disoriented and stunned by Nancy’s boldness..

Beverly took her shot, the silver ball bearing sliced through Pennywise’s cheek. He snarled in anger.

Ben and Mike charged and attacked with their weapons. Pennywise was able to knock them back, but their distraction allowed Robin to dump the canister of gasoline onto Pennywise. Nancy fired again, this time with incendiary rounds.

The clown let out a horrific, distorted scream as the flames consumed it. IT’s form convulsed.. Pennywise clawed at the air, trying to shift into another form, but Nancy pressed forward, shotgun aimed directly at the heart of the evil entity.

NANCY WHEELER: Not this time!

She pulled the trigger. With an explosion of light and energy, Pennywise’s body twisted and collapsed inward, imploding into the void.

The group stood in the eerie silence, breathing heavily, victorious.

 

HOST CHECK-IN

 

Randy Meeks, now adorned in a Stranger Things t-shirt, couldn’t help but smile.

RANDY: Not only did she take down Pennywise, but she also outdid one of the OG Final Girls, Nancy Thompson. That’s legendary.

Next to him stood Elvira. She clapped dramatically. 

ELVIRA: Damn, Nancy Wheeler! I think I’m developing a bit of a girl crush.

Elvira placed her hands on her hips.

ELVIRA: I wonder what she’d look like with a goth aesthetic.

RANDY: Doesn’t really seem to be her vibe.

Elvira side eyed Randy with a smirk.

ELVIRA: Speaking of crushes, why don’t you announce the next second round matchup?

Randy sighed. 

RANDY: It’s Erin Hardesty versus Sidney Prescott. And again,  for the record, Sidney is just my friend.

Elvira ribbed her c0-host.

ELVIRA: You know If you would have had the balls to pursue her earlier, you might’ve spared her all that heartbreak with Billy Loomis and all the insanity that followed.

Randy considered that for a second before shaking his head. 

RANDY: Nah. Nothing good comes from dwelling on the past. Let’s focus on the present. As a reminder, in the first round Sidney took down the Maniac Cop, Matthew Cordell, and Erin was able to defeat the Hatchet killer himself, Victor Crowley.

ELVIRA: A vengeful zombie cop, A Texas chainsaw wielding maniac, a murderous swamp entity, and numerous Ghostface killers… These Final Girls have survived a lot.

RANDY: And now those survival skills will be put to the test against the ultimate slasher, Michael Myers.

ELVIRA: Oh, last we saw Michael, he was extra pissed after Jamie Lloyd’s… unfortunate demise during her Bonus Match.

RANDY: It was hard to tell if he was upset that she died or that he wasn’t the one to do it. But I’d rather not focus too much on that twisted problematic relationship.

ELVIRA: Good call let’s instead focus on this upcoming challenge. The important question is, do either Sidney or Erin have the skills and will to go toe to toe with the legend himself?

 

HADDONFIELD, ILLINOIS 

 

Sidney and Erin arrived in the quiet, eerie streets of Haddonfield. Sidney frowned.

SIDNEY: This place feels like Woodsboro already. I don’t like it.

Erin implored her earnestly.

ERIN: Whoever wins, I want to make sure to do everything we can so that we both survive.

Sidney eyed her curiously. “

SIDNEY: Your first-round opponent didn’t make it?

Erin hesitated. She reflected on the sad fate of Heather Miller and shook her head.

ERIN: No.

Sidney sighed. 

SIDNEY: You can’t blame yourself. You should know, my opponent, Julie, managed to survive.  It is possible.

Just then, a car pulled up, and the driver rolled down the window. It was the older version of Laurie Strode.

LAURIE: Get in.

Once inside, Laurie studied them through the rearview mirror. “

LAURIE: Don’t know what they have planned for me here but when I heard someone was up against Michael, I figured I’d help. Didn’t know if it would be some fresh-faced amateurs.

She paused and took a long look at their faces.

LAURIE: But I can tell you're not amateurs. You two look like you have been hell. Good. That might just keep you alive.

I think Sydneys continued experience with Ghostface will give her an edge

Awesome match up between some heavy hitters. Syd is the goat at surviving horror flicks. Michael Myers is a different beast compared to Ghostface. I'm going to have to go with Erin strictly based on the massive crush I used to have on her. I mean, I still do but I used to, too.
