Megastory 27.9

Previously: Learning of a Decepticon operation on Earth, The Autobots mount an assault on the lair hoping to wipe them out. The Aireal bots captured Astrotrain and Sunstreaker took out the Vehicon Thrust.

His security people occupied, Tarntulus realized his work was not going to be see any further stages of testing. The Autobots had to be closing in.

Wheeljack didn’t need any explanation for why he was sent on this mission. The Predacon mad scientist Tarantulus was known for off the beaten path experiments. Wheeljack was sort of the autobot version of that.

Whatever Tarantulus was working on, Wheeljack was the best suited to understand it and possibly counter it.

He found the lab sector. Plugging into a Decepticon network was always a bad idea but things didn’t get done by being safe.

Apparently, Tarantulus was trying to expound the Pretender technology, transfering Cybertronian conscious into flesh-creature bodies. The Maximal/Preadcon upgrades were already giving Cybertronian’s biological alt modes. It protected them from high energon environments. This thing Taratulas was doing would make the Cybertronian body a shell leaving even the spark separate from the new avatar body.

A mech with imagination, or say Megatron’s cunning, would be able to use this to infiltrate a planet’s society and take over from the inside. Such capabilities would change the way they did war.

Destroying all of this was the prudent thing to do but for all Wheeljack knew, the Decepticons were already field testing this technology. The Autobots would need this research to even be able to identify a Decepticon Pretender.

Amid processing all of the data, messages of enemy engagement started springing up. Since it was just updates and not calls for backup Wheeljack assumed the bots could handle things. He wasn’t being attacked yet.

Or so he thought.

In spider mode, Tarantulus crawled up to the ceiling when the Autobot came in. He knew of this one. The Autobot’s so called mad scientist. The things he heard about Wheeljack’s work told him that the compassion-filled mech never took his work far enough. The closest he came when when he inserted their human pet’s consious into a makeshift Cybertronian body. The objective was simply to preserve the flesh creature’s life. Even in the abomination mech body, the human enjoyed an improved existence.

Thinking about it angered him. This was his chance the end this Autobot and his softness. Maybe after he was done, Taratnulus could conjure up some new experiments.

Although he was plugged in, Wheeljack was well away of his surroundings. He wouldn’t tell anybody how close he had let Tarantulus get before he noticed him but it was still plenty of time to evade his surprise attack.

Tarantulus was disappointed that he couldn’t take Wheeljack out the easy way, but he had no doubt that he could destroy this Autobot in a one on one encounter.

“You got lucky Autobot.” the Predacon sneered. “That won’t last.”

“I got you research, Tarantulus.” Wheeljack replied. “That means we don’t need you.”

Fight Parameters:

Battle till the death inside of Taratulus’s lab.

I remember watching Beast Wars, but all I remember is Rat Trap. Which is strange because it's not like he had the best design. I will have to look into Tarantulas more. Good to see more Autobots being used in your story.

Pretty good chapter to your Megastory, @leroypowell3, and damn good matchup, if a little short.

The original, G1 version of Wheeljack, much like Tarantulas, is kind of a mad scientist and a fighter. I'm guessing, like the rest of the arc, they're both made out to be the same size for this match, so the question is whether Tarantulas is in his original Beast Wars form or a Transmetal. In his OG form, Tarantulas may be a little outgunned, but as a Transmetal, his fight with Wheeljack becomes pretty interesting.

I forgot to clarify but like the picture (I added his original form to differentiate when used) He's in his original form.
