BONUS MATCH #3 RESULTS

 

The power in the bank had been cut off. Gale Weathers and Rowan LaFontaine stood side by side with flickering flashlights. A mischievous cackle echoed through the tunnels

LEPRECHAUN: Oh, what fun it is to see two fine lasses running from me! Your screams shall echo, your doom is set, for none escape me once our paths have met!

ROWAN: I’m really not in the mood for a rhyming little freak tonight.

GALE: Yeah, buddy, I’ve dealt with worse than you. I’ve fought masked killers and the news cycle; you are just a tiny obstacle.

LEPRECHAUN: Flattery won’t be saying ya. I’ll be taking both of your heads as well as me pot of gold.

The Leprechaun suddenly leapt from the shadows; he fired his green magic at Rowan. She dodged and vaulted over a nearby teller’s counter. He blasted again and shattered the clear protective screen. He waddled behind the counter, but Rowan had disappeared. He teleported back around and looked over at Gale.

LEPRECHAUN: A tricky one, that one is! But you, dear lass, shall meet my biz!

GALE: What the hell does that even mean?!

LEPRECHAUN: Tell me, lassie, what you fear most so I can make it come true.

The Leprechaun lunged forward, but Gale sidestepped and yanked a camera flash from her bag. She triggered it right in the Leprechaun’s face. It caused him to shriek and reel back. Rowan reappeared with a lighter in her hand.

ROWAN: What do you say we burn all this gold you're fussing over?

LEPRECHAUN: Don’t be rash now.

The Leprechaun pursued Rowan, but she revealed a four-leaf clover given to her by Tory.to keep him at bay. Meanwhile, Gale scoured for the perfect weapon and noticed a destroyed iron stanchion sign by the entrance. She remembered the Leprechaun’s weakness and quickly pulled apart a pointy fragment of the frame. She rammed it through the back of the Leprechaun who still had his focus on Rowan. He shrieked in pain and fell over.

GALE: There you go. Next up a cage covered in clovers for you. I’m sure we can find some cardboard crate equivalent here.

LEPRECHAUN: Ya think you’ve got the best of me. I’ll be back and then you best be runnin;.

GALE: Yeah, yeah, get in line.

Rowan gazed over at Gale.

ROWAN: Nice move.

GALE: Yeah, well, you always have to capitalize on your opportunities.

ROWAN: And it saved our asses.I’m not even bitter that it means I lost.

 

HOST CHECK-IN

 

Elvira lounged on her couch while her co-host, Randy Meeks, beamed with pride at Gale’s victory.

ELVIRA: Well, well, well, folks, we just saw Gale Weathers take down a supernatural menace with her quick thinking! Color me impressed.

RANDY: Gale is a total badass. I think after this performance she has won any doubter’s respect.

ELVIRA: With the completion of this challenge, we are ready to dive straight into our next Bonus Match. However, this one will have a big wrinkle that will make it stand out from the rest.

RANDY: Oh, absolutely. This match is going to be unlike any other. It will feature one of the three kick ass Charmed Ones sister witches, Paige, as well as Woodsboro resident, Tatum Riley.

ELVIRA: Tatum Riley? Wasn’t she….you know…squashed?

RANDY: Well, after everything that happened with Dewey, getting dragged into Sidney’s first-round fight, and after catching some grief from you…

ELVIRA: Rightfully so.

RANDY: I wanted to do something good for him. So, I had a crazy idea… what if we could save his sister?

Elvira lifted an eyebrow.

RANDY: That’s right. His sister, Tatum Riley, who met a rather… unfortunate and embarrassing demise during the original Woodsboro Massacres. I pitched the idea, and the Powers That Be behind the tournament actually approved it. Paige Matthews was given access to rescue Tatum from her fate.

ELVIRA: And how does that work?

RANDY: Here is the thing about Paige. She is half witch and half Whitelighter, which is like a divine guardian.  Her Whitelighter abilities give her the power to Sense, Heal, and Orb, which is like teleportation. The Whitelighter in her also makes her more protective, and for this challenge she is being tasked with protecting and keeping Tatum alive for the next three weeks. And it won’t be easy, because it’s no longer Ghostface hunting her down. Since Tatum cheated her fate, she is being hunted by Death itself, and she is not being afforded the month of normalcy. 

ELVIRA: The incarnation of Death, like from the Final Destination movies?  Oh, she is so screwed.

RANDY: That’s the challenge. Paige has to protect a girl who—let’s be blunt—was never exactly Final Girl material to begin with. It is fair to question her survival instincts. 

ELVIRA: You can say that again. She dated Stu Macher. Not exactly a beacon of good decision-making.

RANDY: Exactly. And to make things even more difficult, Paige still has all of her Charmed One responsibilities. She’ll have to balance vanquishing demons and saving a well meaning airhead from getting final-destinationed.

ELVIRA: I assume padded rooms will be off limits for this challenge.

Randy nodded.

ELVIRA: This is going to be good. But I have to ask..Randy, how many people in your life are going to be appearing in this tournament?

RANDY: I may have had to sell my soul to pull some strings, but it’s fine. Wasn’t really using it anyway.

ELVIRA: Ha! Well, let’s see how Paige Matthews handles Death knocking on her charge’s door.

 

WOODSBORO HIGH SCHOOL 

 

Tatum lounged on the school steps, chatting with her friends. She leaned back with a somewhat smug expression.

TATUM: I should be freaked out by what happened, but, I’ve got a guardian angel now..I feel invincible.

Her friends laughed as they assumed she meant metaphorically. An ominous shadow unseen by the naked eye loomed in the distance.

 

THE HALLIWELL MANOR – SAN FRANCISCO

 

Paige Matthews stormed into the living room and glared at the Whitelighter for the Charmed Ones, her brother-in-law, Leo Wyatt,

PAIGE: Okay, Leo, spill it. I was told to save this girl, and now I have to babysit her for three weeks while Death itself wants her gone. What the hell is going on?!

LEO: Paige, you always wanted to tap into your White Lighter side more. Well, congratulations, you’ve officially got your first charge.

PAIGE: Oh great, I get a sassy, death-magnet charge who somehow looks exactly like me. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.

LEO: I don’t have all the answers. But the Elders marked this as high priority. Death wants her, and you need to make sure it doesn’t get her.

PAIGE: Well, I’ll do my best, but mark my words, Leo, I’m getting to the bottom of this mystery.
