Match 21377 Falcon (comics) vs. Serpentor

It was a mission that had gone wrong. Nobody was killed but a trap had been sprung as multiple members of G.I. Joe including Duke had been captured by the forces of Cobra.

It was near the mountain Citlaltépetl in Veracruz, Mexico. A few of the Joes had gotten a supposed S.O.S. with Duke leading a team consisting of Scarlett, Roadblock, Leatherneck, Wet Suit, Flint and Lady Jaye to rescue hostages who had been kidnapped by Cobra. But as it turned out, it was a trap sprung by Cobra that was now being led by Serpentor who in a video message warned them not to interfere with their plans. 

He had told them for now they were being kept prisoner but if they send a team to rescue them, they would initiate his plan to unleash manmade created Earthquakes and tsunamis across the globe thanks to Dr. Mindbender's latest invention.

General Hawk was stumped as were other members of G.I. Joe such as Cover Girl and Sgt. Slaughter were stumped what to do. Hawk had shot down Slaughter's suggestion of gathering his own team on the account of being too risky. Cover Girl suggested that they may need to contact outside help this time as perhaps Cobra would not see anyone else coming. General Hawk, out of hesitation, agreed. He hated to admit, but vigilantes would be the Joes' only hope of saving the day. 

Hawk had wanted to call The Avengers but much of them had other threats to deal with but there was one member who was available and at the very least, had ties to Steve Rogers and took up the mantle of Captain America once again; Sam Wilson, the current Captain America.

Sam agreed to help out despite G.I. Joe and The Avengers not exactly fond of each other as no matter what, someone needed rescuing. And Cobra was a mutual enemy.

In the sky, a blue and white blur flew across at top speed like a jet with his jetpack and vibranium wings helping him with flight.

At G.I. Joe headquarters, Cover Girl and General Hawk were in the communications room.

"Duke's not gonna like we asked for the help of vigilantes." Cover Girl said.

"What choice do we have?" General Hawk replied before he spoke into the microphone. "Sam, how far are you now?"

"About ten miles toward the coordinates you gave me." Sam replied through his commlink. 

"At this speed though, five miles." He added.

"Good." Hawk said. "Try to be covert about this now."

"Covert?" Sam chuckled. "You must be new!"

Sam had finally arrived at the location. Outside the base were a dozen Cobra soldiers dressed in blue with matching helmets, black face masks, gloves and boots-all standing guard. One of them looked up in the sky to see an incoming object heading straight toward them. 

"Look out!" The Cobra soldier pointed as he and the other men ran out of the way. 

The object landed with grace. To their surprise, they saw the object was a human being; A dark brown skinned men with a shaved head and goatee, in a blue and white suit with red goggles on his face, red gloves and red boots with a star in the middle of his chest.

The wings retracted as the man, known Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, stood tall with the trademark shield made out of vibranium, ready to fight.

"Wait for it..." Sam said.

The shockwave sent a few of the Cobra soldiers flying save for a few that still stood up. Sam then threw the shield like a frisbee and managed to knock one out on his face upon impact and ricochet back to Sam. He then kicked another Cobra soldier in the chest before a few more Cobra soldiers began to fire on him with Sam using the shield to block the lasers that came at him before he instantly punched each of them in the face and kicking another one away.

He even used his wings to knock down a few more Cobra soldiers before throwing the shield again at another Cobra soldier and ricocheting back to him once again. 

The Dreadknocks, that only consisted of Buzzer, Ripper, Torch, Monkeywrench and Thrasher rushed into battle with their respective weapons as they began to fire at him.

"Let's roast us a bird!" Laughed Torch along with the other Dreadknocks as he used his flamethrower.

Sam quickly used not only the shield, but also his wings to cover for him. Because the wings were vibranium, they had absorbed enough energy that Sam used the tips of the wings that were powerful enough to create a huge shockwave. 

"Blimey!" Torch screamed in shock.

The shockwave sent the Dreadknocks flying and knocked them out upon landing and sprawled out on the ground.

Suddenly, Zartan appeared from behind to which Sam responded by using his wings to slap him and then kicked him in the face-knocking him out.

"Not bad for a cardio workout." Sam quipped. 

Inside the Cobra base, Dr. Mindbender and Destro watched the battle via a monitor with Serpentor eyeing on the events that unfolded as Sam rushed inside the base much to their surprise.

"Amazingly out of character for the Joes to send a vigilante." Destro remarked curiously.

"But still bad news given he is one of the Avengers!" Dr. Mindbender exclaimed.

"Let him come!" Serpentor exclaimed angrily. "I will face this intruder myself!" 

"I'll make sure he will taste my wrath!" He added.

Suddenly, the doors bursted open to reveal Sam Cap himself using the shield to burst through the doors.

"You got a real loud mouth, you know that?" Sam said as he overheard the Cobra leader's remarks.

"None will challenge Serpentor!" The Cobra leader shouted.

"Well, there's a first time for everyone." Sam quipped in response as he was prepared to fight.

The two combatants finally charged at each other; the battle had finally commenced.

This is still Sam Cap from the comics and I mean Sam Wilson is Captain America once again which I'm thankful movie synergy got him back there because he deserved to carry the mantle of Captain America. (And should be changed on this site but that's another topic.)

And yes, he has vibranium wings in the comics as he does in the movies this time. Thank Tony Stark for modifying the wings. Though, still didn't stop me from making references to Captain America: Brave New World, which I still love for the record. But Sam Cap has every ability he has in the comics.

Serpentor is still his cartoon self with the chariot he has and such. It's a solo fight, no help from anyone.

Great job, Movie-Brat! The match up definitely gave me Brave New World vibes especially considering Sidewinder and the Seperent Society have a big snake theme.

Good pairing for this match. Serpentor is a worthy challenge for Sam, but I think he still takes it. Still need to watch the new Cap movie.

Good set-up and matchup, Movie-Brat. This is a good crossover I could see unfolding officially. 

As for the match, if this were straight H2H, I'd say that Serpentor would be a little too much for Falcon. With both their respective gears, though, Sam seems to have the edge, as he's more maneuverable in the air than Serpentor in his air chariot, and Sam's wings and shield show protect him from Serpentor's attacks and eventually overwhelm the Cobra emperor.
