War of Drekis, Rearmed - Overview

Preface:

First things first, allow me to make clear that I'm not the original writer of this fic series. The original iteration of this fic is by Robotech Master and ran from roughly 2003-2010 before the FPL underwent a reboot in 2009, with the author citing the lore reboot of Khazan and real-life commitments being the main reasons behind his discontinuation of the original series.

With his permission, what I am writing can be thought of as something of a "director's cut" that follows the original's plot outline but with expanded scenes, extended dialogue, enhanced prose, etc. It was something of a pet project I took up in 2021 since I followed the series quite avidly back in the day, at least until the fic stopped updating in 2010. So I was like, "Maybe I could pick up where the original left off?"

That being said, since I don't have the plot outline of the original, so it ended up becoming a remake + expansion that has me taking a hefty amount of creative liberties with the script and with the way the classic FPL characters were being depicted in the fic; with the plan being to rewrite and expand on the existing 27 chapters before continuing from where it left off. I had my reservations about putting it up publicly, since it was pretty much a vanity project on my part - but I do want to get a sense of closure, as well as perhaps take a ride down the ol' FPL nostalgia lane. Not to mention, since I have no idea what Robotech Master's plans for the story after Chapter 27 were, I figured that having extra eyes on this project beyond myself and a couple of friends I have DM chats with on Discord might give me inspiration on how to continue.
